The Beginnings of the Anderson Family...

On the afternoon of our first day in the city we went to Everett to tour our old family history locations.  First up we stopped at our second apartment in Everett, the home Wyatt was brought to as a new born.  We lived on the third floor and had to park on the street.  Will and a couple of the big kids went down into the basement.  The little kids and I found a dead mouse in the drive way...so that was exciting.

Next stop was the park on Chelsea Street.  They have done some renovations since we moved away so it looked pretty different but we had a good time.

After the park we drove over to our very first place in Everett.  Will and I could not find an apartment to rent when we started looking.  There were lots of people looking for places too and we kept on loosing places to other people.  Finally a friend from work told Will about a condo in his building that would be up for sale.  When Will told me we should try to buy the condo my immediate reaction was "What?! No, we cannot buy a condo!  We are too young to do that!"  Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and we put in an offer.  The offer was accepted BUT it took us almost six months to actually close on the condo.  We rented it from the previous owner until we closed.

So our very first home was at 881 Broadway #4 in Everett.  It was a one bedroom condo in the basement of the building.  The day we closed we tore up the bathroom to renovate it.  We worked on the bathroom off and on...but it wasn't finished for two years.  We ended up tiling the ceiling the night before we closed when we sold the condo.  It was a great little home for our new family.  Lorien was born when we lived there.  I got to paint the living room and halls and make curtains for the living room window.

The lobby smelled exactly the same as when we moved in.  The smell was wildly nostalgic.

After Broadway we drove through the cemetery in town that we used to walk around.  No pictures of that...

Then it was time for ICE CREAM from the Dairy Maid!  This was one of our favorite ice cream places, it helped that it was a block away from our Broadway condo.  We all got delicious ice cream and stuffed ourselves.
