Sunday in Cambridge...

We got into town late Saturday night and checked into our Airbnb.  We grabbed some pizza for a very late dinner and went to bed.  The kids had been super troopers for the whole day of traveling.  We only carried on our bags and everyone had to carry some thing.

We decided to get up wicked early and go to church at our old family ward (Revere 2nd ward).  Church started at 9:00 am and we were still on west coast time.  So it was a lot of work to get to church.  We were about four minutes early but no one was in the parking lot when we pulled up.  We were stymied.  We walked around the building for a few minutes and Will called the Bishop of the ward.  We found out it was Stake Conference and there wouldn't be services in that building today.

Bummer!  So we recreated an old family photo instead.

After striking out in Revere, we found out our old singles ward in Cambridge was meeting at noon so we zipped over to Cambridge.  We were about an hour early so we wandered around the neighborhood and told stories of the olden days.

Clare might be a super model.
We checked out the grounds of the Longfellow house (spoiler alter, it was beautiful).  And we worked on my selfie stick use.  I am pretty convinced that selfie sticks are awesome and I should use them all the time.

We got to the singles ward building (called the University Ward in our day) and checked the place out a little bit before the noon sacrament meeting was supposed to start.

When we walked in, no one was really in the chapel and the people there were talking animatedly...not in a way that said "sacrament is about to start, be quiet"

So we sat down and waited, and waited, and waited.  Finally someone took pity on us and told us today was the first meeting of the summer schedule where wards were combined.  Sacrament meeting wouldn't start for another hour.  STRIKE TWO!

On these steps almost twenty years ago we hugged and Will figured out that I was an awesome chick.

We gave up on sacrament meetings after that and headed out to see a very old cemetery where some of Will's ancestors were buried.  We couldn't find his direct line ancestor but we found a brother or uncle.  It was cool and creepy but mostly cool.
