After Canada and the falls we made our way back to my mom's house. On the way we stopped at a friend of her's house, Sandy. Sandy's house is actually a working farm. She has chickens and goats and dogs. The kids (excluding Colter) loved the dogs.
We all saw how Sandy's farm worked and got to taste some goat milk. It was very tasty! I was surprised. I've only smelled goat milk one time years ago and it smelled awful! Also, goat cheese is pretty smelly. But this milk was great! Creamy and cold, it tasted just like cow milk but a bit sweeter. Sandy explained how careful she is with her process and the type of goats she milks. All of her care and knowledge make for delicious milk! It was interesting!
After the tour we went inside to rest and visit for a bit. Sandy has been dog sitting my mom's dog, Babe. We met Babe and some of Sandy's other dogs. She has a lot of dogs to help run the farm. She was full of stories of all the crazy animals the dogs had chased off her farm. Wild!
Babe is the big dog in the middle of the kids. |
