Monday was our last day with my mom. She had a some wood delivered Monday morning and we got to work loading and stacking it.
My kids worked so hard! They hauled and stacked and split wood for the whole morning. It was a huge job and they kept at it! I was so proud of them and so thankful for their willingness to help. My mom's shoulder will keep her from doing work like this for a little while. However, her shoulder will not keep winter from coming and the house from needing wood for heating. It was a huge job! I am so glad and proud of these kids!
Lorien worked down in the basement stacking the wood the whole time. She had helpers from Wyatt and Will every so often but she worked down stairs the whole time. Have I mentioned what a huge job this was?
Oliver had to come out and help stack wood for a bit. He got a splinter, poor guy. |
After stacking wood for a few hours it was time to get cleaned up and ready to go. We gave our hugs and helped pack up our bedding as best as we could. It was such a great visit. Plenty of work and plenty of rest. I am so glad my kids got to see how and where my mom lives. It is a different life from the one we have in California.
