We really packed a lot of activities into every day. After checking out the Minute Man Museum and all the history there we took a ride of the T, heading down to the North End to check out some history there.
The T was Colter's favorite part, for sure. He had been looking forward to riding the T for months. Will told him a story about taking the T on one of his business trips.
Colter was over the moon. If you need proof, check out his face in this picture.
In Downtown Boston we picked up part of the Freedom Trail and checked out the State House (a historic building from the Revolutionary War) and walked down to the North End.
Wyatt found this old chef statue out side an Italian Restaurant. I am pretty sure it is the same statue I took a picture of with when I was a freshman in college. I need to round up that old picture...
Here it is: me in March of 1999 and Wyatt almost 20 years later in June of 2018.
We checked out the North Church from Paul Revere's Ride and his statue. By this point we were all pretty tired and hungry and the rain was wearing us down.
We wound our way through the North End and stopped at Mike's Pastries for cannoli and lots of treats. Will had to take Colter to find a bathroom...I don't know where he ended up finding a place to pee...better left unknown. The other kids and I picked out treats and bought some bottled water for our thirsty throats.
We walked by La Famiglia a restaurant Will and I went to on our first date. We were too enticed by pastries to stop to eat...we were also too cranky to sit and eat.
Lorien took lots of pictures to make memories...she was making this face in most of her pictures.
We got back to our Airbnb and pigged out on Mike's Pastries. They were sooooo good! We were exhausted but managed to eat out fill.
A word about our Airbnb. It was a perfect Everett apartment, which is to say: it was old and weird. The floors sloped dramatically from the front door down to the back of the apartment where the one bathroom was. The doors didn't fully close and we couldn't get the keys to work smoothly. It was small, one room for the kitchen, dining, and living rooms. Two proper bedrooms and one extra room that was more of a closed in porch without a door. It was exactly what we wanted and we were extremely comfortable.
