Boston Common and the Public Garden

Sunday was packed, Monday was packed...Tuesday had plenty to live up to.  We got right to checking out more historic Boston and more family history sights.  First up the current State House, not the historic one.  This building has a beautiful gold dome and is a recognizable sight all over the city.  Unfortunately, it was closed for repairs so we couldn't take the kids inside.

We followed a bit more of the Freedom Trail and checked out an ancient cemetery.  Mother Goose is buried here as well as Benjamin Franklin's parents.

Next we walked through the Boston Common checking out fountains and walking paths.

We found the Make Way For Ducklings statues.  We have a picture of baby Lorien on these ducks.

We walked through the Boston Commons and over to the Public Garden.  The Public Garden has swan boats in a little pond in the center of the garden.  There is a statue of George Washington and so many beautiful flower beds.
