First day, first day, it's the first day of school! Lorien is a junior in high school. I keep thinking about how different our life would be if we did not homeschool her one year and move her up. She would have had her first year of high school last year. She and Wyatt would be at the high school together for two years. She might have been motivated to get her drivers licence on time. She could be driving for me in a few months. Right now, she has zero motivation to get her permit or licence. I kind of think she never will get it. Did I mention I didn't get my licence until I was 19? Payback.
Wyatt is one of the oldest kids at middle school. 8th grade! He likes his schedule and is going to be an attendance aid again.
Clare is one of the youngest kids in the middle school. 6th grade for Clare! She is excited and nervous. She has never been at a different school. Once we moved to Danville, we stayed put. Unlike the older kids her school career has been at the same place. Moving to middle school is the first school change she has done.
Adell is finally going to be at school for a full school day. No 1/2 day TK or Kindergarten, no early bird schedule, just a full day of school (finally). 2nd grade here comes Adell!
Last but not least, Colter is headed into Kindergarten. He has the same teacher Adell had two years ago and we are all happy about it.
I took Lorien up to the high school nice and early since she has an A period this year. Clare and Wyatt biked down the hill to school themselves. Then Will and I took Adell and Colter to the elementary school. There were hugs and a lot of excited, happy faces. We sent them both off to their classes and Will and I went out for breakfast. Dreamy! I love school!
