We were so excited. So full of confidence. Will saw the line up and brackets the day before. He knew he was wrestling an American guy first, and if he won that match, his next would be against a Georgian guy who had won the whole thing a few years ago. Will prepped for that second possible match. He felt like the first would be an easy win.
Will made weight, whew! Now he could eat and warm up.
Alas, he lost the first match in the first period. He tried to do leg lace and got caught...ended up being pinned. Not good.
Will was so mad and frustrated. All that preparation and planning. Lost and out of the competition. Disappointing. Will's work mate, Andres, came over from Spain where he was on a long vacation, to watch Will wrestle.
Will tasked Andres with finding the lunch spot for us to go out to eat at. Andres did not disappoint. He picked this amazing fresh sea food place way out of town. It was right on the coast and just beautiful. The owner/chef helped us pick out the fish and prepared the food in the most wonderful way. It was so delicious!
The loss was disappointing for sure, but the food made up for it a little bit.
