Adell gave us the gift of a persuasive essay for Christmas. She wrote us a note listing all of the reasons we should go into San Francisco for the day. She only had valid points including an offer to make sure everyone was in the car on time. We were convinced.
We headed into the city on the first day of 2021. It was a glorious day to be out of the house. We masked up and headed across the Golden Gate Bridge to start things off. We toured around the Fort Baker area on the other side of the bridge. Stopping to look at the sea...and continue the streak of at least one child getting soaked by ocean water on every trip to the coast. Way to go Colter!
Our next stop was the tiled steps on 16th Ave. This spot is a beauty! You get an exhausting climb up while looking at lovely art and a succulent garden. Then you get full city and ocean views at the windy top! It's great.
If you are extra observant you can find a tile that says "eat my shorts".
Our last sight to see and play was a set of cement slides in a little residential neighborhood. Colter, Adell, and Clare enjoyed sliding down on cardboard while Will and I watched. It was an excellent day in the city!
Nothing tops a visit to San Francisco off like eating at a fun restaurant. Will found a dumplings place and ordered up a bunch of fun dumplings for dinner. Of course, San Francisco is closed for indoor dining...and outdoor dining...and so we ate in the back of the van. It was very cramped but very memorable. Thanks for convincing us to head into the city Adell!
