Saturday afternoon we headed out for a drive and hike. A friend of a friend told us about a place called Fort Pierce where you could see petroglyphs and an old rock fort.
Poor Simon was leading the way on our hike. We found a little stream and he started making his way across the rocks and what he thought was packed wet sand. It turned out to be deep, sloppy mud. He jumped off a rock expecting to land in sand and sunk up to his hips in mud. It was messy. He was such a good sport about it and so was Mike (his dad).
The petroglyphs were cool...some old-timey cave person was very artistic.
We took a few group pictures to mark the day. Poor Christopher cannot keep his eyes open for even a second in the sun light.
After checking out the fort we did a little off roading and found a place with dinosaur footprints. It was really cool.
