Upward Bound...

The summers between my sophomore and junior and junior and senior years in high school I attended a program called Upward Bound.  Its purpose was to prepare kids for college.  We lived in dorms, attended classes and had jobs during for 6 weeks or so out of the summer.  The greatest thing I got out of Upward Bound was my friendship with these three people, Heidi, Amy and Paul.  We made a little group of friends and hung out every chance we could get.  We got into a little bit of trouble together but nothing too wild.

On our way to our hotel in Portland, Will dropped me off for ice cream (yes...more ice cream) with my friends.  We haven't seen each other for almost 20 years!  We see each other on Facebook and that is a blessing.  A couple of years ago Paul came out to San Francisco for a work conference and I got to have lunch with him.  But the four of us haven't been together for 20 years.  W-I-L-D!  Catching up was wonderful!  We talked for way too long and ended up closing the place.

I wish I could figure out how to rotate this picture on my blog.  Oh well, here we all are (plus Amy's roommate at the time) 20 years earlier.  We haven't aged a day, right!?
