I was cleaning out the van last week and came across a note pad in the very back seat where Lorien usually sits. It was full of her doodles, drawings and one story. The begining of her story is my favorite so I thought I'd share it with you.
(Don't you feel lucky?)
Enjoy!
My Totally Different Life By Lorien Anderson
My life is different. I mean, totally different.
Most kids have parents who are: Moms: from 40-50. Dads: from 50-60. Me: Mom: 29. Dad: 34 weird huh?
Did-ya catch that? Here is a close up of the illustrated families:
That's me, Will and Lorien up there...
Above and below--the Other Mothers and Fathers...
See the boy with his Dad on the right? It looks like he is eyeing our little family with some pretty insane jealousy--RIGHT?
Happy Birthday to ME!
Lorien also told me (yesterday) she couldn't wait to see how old I would look today. When I asked her what she thought would change she said: "Your face. I bet your cheeks will be full of wrinkles and so will the corners of your eyes."

Ah ha ha ha! I love this! The wrinkly moms and dads are awesome!
See! It's all worth it, isn't it?!?! You should tell her about all the times when you went to the grocery store and ladies heckled you for being an underaged mother, or the babysitter! :) Because it's your birthday! And you're aging slower than any of us! :)
SOOOOO CUTE!!! What a great birthday present. I hope you had a wonderful birthday and here is wishing you a FABULOUS wrinkle free year!
I'll loved readying this post again. She is hilarious! I think you should some how include it in your Christmas card this year.
