April 2022

Ah what a bonkers month April was.  A real wild ride.  I feel like April was over in about 10 minutes and May has been dragging on for a whole year.  Let's review the month!

Started it out with some classic April fools activities.  I can only participate in wholesome April fools pranks.  Once I was an unwitting accomplice in a mean April fools prank.  It has haunted me ever since.  Only produce disguised as donuts and cake disguised as breakfast for me!  No one was hurt (physically or emotionally) in the presentation of this prank.

Everyone was fooled by the eggs and toast.  It was white cake baked in a bread tin, sliced and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.  The eggs were frosting and food coloring.  Easy, tasty, harmless.

Will has been gearing up for Nationals in Las Vegas by wrestling in local tournaments.  Colter is Will's coach and corner man.  In the first tournament Will won gold!

We spent a Sunday afternoon wandering around Stanford, remembering early family memories.  This is me and Will outside our very first Stanford apartment.

For spring break Will took the kids to Utah to ski.  I stayed home for the first half and then went to Texas for a life coach seminar.  I did a home project for the first half of the week, organizing and painting the laundry room.  Here are before and after pictures.  They are in the wrong order, the first one is the after with paint color and the first is the before...but not before I cleared the top of the machines and the counter.

Skiing was a hit!  Except...they did not apply sunscreen...and everyone got a beard of sunburn.

I attended the Mastermind for The Life Coach School.  I had the best time finally meeting in person all of the friends and colleagues I met virtually over the last year.  Here I am with my classmate Ty!

I got to see all of my mentors, teachers, and frankly life coach idols speak and present at the conference.

Seeing my friends was my favorite part.  The presentations were bonkers good.  I was filled up and inspired by every one...well all but one...but all of the rest were wicked good.  I got to hang out a bunch with my bestie coach friend, Bree.  She and I went through coach training together, we met at a program of Jody Moore's, Be Bold Masters in 2019.  In 2020 we be came life coaches together!  So fun.  So amazing.  I feel so lucky to have such great friends.

I got to meet a classmate from the Applied track, Sara.

And another Applied track classmate, Li.

I took a kayak tour along the river and witnessed the largest colony of bats in a city in Northern America fly out at dusk.

All weekend I kept finding myself near my original life coach, Jody Moore.  People around me asked for pictures and I always seemed to be the one who took the phone and snapped the picture.  On the day we were all leaving town, I was in a group chatting and along came Jody Moore to talk to the group.  I took my turn to ask for a picture myself.  Dream come true!

I got to room with my best tier friend, Heidi, who I met through another best tier friend, Anne.  So much fun!  We talked non stop.  We tried to go to an Orange Theory class together but she was on east coast time and I was on west coast time...we couldn't make it work.

Ty and I met our teacher from certification, Lauren Cash.  Also a dream come true!

We got to go back to BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT for the first time in two years.  Colter was the one and only kid we had this year...for the first time in forever...since Lorien was in Kindergarten and first grade.  He proudly showed us around and we proudly took pictures.

We tracked down an electric car for Clare/the kid car.  It is an actual Clown Car.  We got in in Sacramento and the range was not enough to get it home in one swoop.  Thankfully, Will drove with Clare and I got to take the speedy Tesla home.

Buying a car is painful...but this was one of the easier processes.

Clare was supposed to get her license on May 9th but on the last day of her last class she was sick.  With COVID worries we had to cancel.  Then it took forever to get her class rescheduled...so her test is scheduled for May 19th now.

Good/bad news.  Will snapped a tendon in his biceps in the last wrestling tournament before Nationals in Las Vegas.  We went to Vegas anyway and just enjoyed a weekend  on the town.  We ate all of the food since Will was not dieting any more.  We enjoyed the crazy energy of the NFL draft weekend.  It was interesting.  Mostly we just had fun being together and remembering that we both really like each other and have a ton of fun together.

Charity and Ben came up from Saint George for dinner and a show with us.  Fun!

Peace out April.  You've been a roller coaster for sure!

In final April news...Wyatt called and told us his girlfriend, Emma, is pregnant.  His exact words were "what do you want to be called as grandparents?"  I don't want to be called grandparent anything.  I am 41 years old.  I don't want to be a grandparent.  But that is not a choice I get to make.  So, if you hear on the breeze that Wyatt is going to be a father at the end of November, it is true.  I am trying to do better, to get to know Emma more, to be excited and happy about being a grandmother at 41.  As for Wyatt, he is very happy and Emma is very happy.  So, I am happy for their happy.

I am not going to be available for conversations on this topic for a little while.  When I am ready to talk about it, I'll tell you.  If you want to talk about it, I think you should talk to your friends and family...or better yet...call Wyatt.  He is the guy to get all the deets on this.  It is his story.
