RV for seven...

Here we go again on our own
Going down the only road we've ever known
Like some drifters, we were born to walk alone

Well...that's obviously not how Whitsnake's 1987 hit goes but it works for us.  Will and I decided to rent an RV (is it an RV or a RV?) to take the kids up to the lake again!  It has been five years or so since we went up and it was time to go.  With COVID 19 shutting everything down a long drive where we can keep to ourselves seemed like the one and only vacation we could take this summer.

It took a lot of hoops but we finally got the RV secured and headed out on our journey!  Everyone was so, so, so, excited!

We spread out and started driving.  Aaaaannnndddd, I immediately got car sick.  The RV was like a boat just rocking from side to side.  It was also so clattery and noisy!  Will and I felt like we were a mile apart in the front seats and had to shout to have a conversation.  The kids were all pretty happy to spread out and relax.  I had to spend most of the drive laying down on the bed in the back trying not to throw up.

We made it to Elko, Nevada, and finally got to have dinner at a Basque restaurant we've tried to eat at several times but it has always been closed.

We drove into the night and crashed (not in an accident just to sleep for the night) outside of Idaho Falls at a hot springs place we hoped to swim at...but it was about 2 am when we rolled in.

We got up and drove out to Craters of the Moon, a national park of volcanic spread.  It was a fairly short stop but we took a couple of little hikes and looked at all the crazy, cooled lava flows.

It took two full days of driving but we made it to Montana, bought some fireworks, and rolled into the lake at about 10:30 at night.  Turns out, driving all day for days is hard no matter what kind of vehicle you are in.  BUT!  We are at the lake and so happy to be there!
