Friday, when we were cruising around trying to find a laundry mat, I thought I saw a familiar picture of Christ on a blue building. We had been looking for a ward building to attend on Sunday on the internet. We were in a neighborhood that the internet said had a ward building. Today, we got dressed in our Sunday finest, had breakfast, went over to the sports palace for a little bit of wrestling, then took a taxi to church. We had the wrong address so we ended up having to walk for a little while once we were dropped off. Thankfully, we found the building...but it was locked and closed! We knocked on doors and windows but no one came to the door.
We gave up and took a taxi over to the other church address. When we got there we found people (win) and we were told they were watching general conference for their worship services. General conference had aired last weekend but it took a week for it to be translated into Georgian, Armenian, Russian, and Arabic. We chatted with a few people and met a few missionaries. We decided to head back to the sports palace to finish watching the wrestling for today.
It seems like we always strike out when we try to go to church when we are on vacation. I'm glad we keep persisting but one Sunday it would be nice to just go to church when we are out of town.
Will ended up going back for more wrestling and I went back to the hotel for rest. We got a few texts from Heather and Alan of them watching Will's matches. Alan also brought our kids over to watch the matches. They were so excited.
