Renaissance...weekend...not faire...

Will got invited to this thing called Renaissance Weekend.  Google it.  I don't have the energy to explain it.  Just make sure you click on the "weekend" links not the "faire" links.  They are DIFFERENT!  Basically, its a weekend of small group talks about big ideas in the world.  I don't know how he got invited, probably because he is married to me.  That's my lead hunch right now.

So after a few whirlwind days in Huntington Beach, we drove home, spent one night in our own beds and drove down to Monterey for Renaissance.  We stayed in a little motel a couple of miles away from the fancy hotel where the event was happening.  We are classy like that.

We used the time we had between talks to explore Monterey (or take naps, maybe I was the only one napping).

We ate at a local fish restaurant.  I ordered oysters and everyone gagged one down!  It was so impressive!  Adell actually gagged down TWO and Clare licked a little corner of a pinch of an oyster.

We met some wicked smart people and only made fools of ourselves seven times.  We learned a lot and shared a lot.  I was really proud of my kids for attending interesting talks and fully participating in the pannels they were asked to speak on.  It was a great experience.

On our way home we stopped at the tide pools and had a great time exploring.  Will fell in once and scraped up his leg.  His was the only injury.  Nice trip Anderson (ha!)
