We did do a few other things in January--besides wrapping up winter break and wrestling. Our nephew/cousin, Evan, made the Freshman Basketball team. The competition was fierce this year. There were lots of really talented kids and only a limited number of spots. Lots of talented boys were disappointing disappointed, disappointed! The first time I typed that word I put too many s's and spell check only gave me "disappointing" as a correction. I selected it, intending to go back and change the ing to ed...and didn't! Woof. Good thing blogs aren't cool any more and no one will ever read that. Least of all the mothers of the boys who didn't make the team! What I meant was boys who would have made the team on other years because they were so dang talented, got disappointed because there were SO many talented kids. Someone had to be cut and it was gut wrenching. High school sports can be so dramatic!
Evan made the team and we are so happy for him! Will took the kids to watch Evan play but ended up being late (I think it was my fault). They got their for the second half and Evan had played in the first.
Lucky me, one day when I was going back to the high school to pick Wyatt up from wrestling practice we found out Evan had a game! So we both went to watch him. He was great and it was so fun to see him play. He is crazy talented! He is number 3 in the pictures.
January 29th was the 100th day of school! Lorien and Wyatt's kindergarten classes made a much bigger deal of the 100th day...I think Clare's class did too. I think she got to dress up like she was 100 years old. Adell's was pretty fun and Colter's first year of kindergarten 100th day was good too. This year was a little anticlimactic. They just colored a bunch of things over and over again to make 100. I don't know. His teacher this year doesn't want a lot of parent helpers in the classroom so I don't know what is going on as much. He was happy. And now we only have 80 days left of school!
I banished the little kids from electronics for one reason or another. They got to work building with all of the blocks, train tracks and Legos. It was awesome.
Lorien and Wyatt continue to be their goofy selves. Clare's shoulder is still injured. She hasn't been dancing to her full capabilities. We took the winter break off and tried to be diligent with physical therapy. But she is still in pain. We need an MRI and to see what is at the bottom of her shoulder pain--it's been such a pain!
