Wrap it up March...

A few years ago, when Adell was in TK, we found a great little Chinese Restaurant near by.  Will started working from this side of the bay one day of the week.  Frequently, we would meet Will at this restaurant for lunch.  Adell fell in love with their hot and sour soup.  Years later, she still loves it and has passed her love on to Colter.

We've taken a few years off from setting leprechaun traps.  Adell was inspired by school activities and this year we set several traps.  Our efforts were as fruitful as always.  Our leprechaun has gotten lazy in his old age.  He only leaves gold coins and doesn't cause a lot of mischief.

My friend, Heather, agreed to take all five kids for an over night so Will and I could celebrate our anniversary instead of Saint Patrick's day.  We stayed at home enjoying peace and quiet. The next day we wanted to go to the temple to remember our wedding day.  We didn't realize the Oakland temple was closed for cleaning.  So we made our way up to Sacramento.  We hadn't been up to that temple yet.  It was farther than we expected but lovely and well worth the trip.  It was so nice to preform proxy sealings and remember our own special day.  I loved looking into Will's eyes and feeling grateful for having his love and support for the last seventeen years.  I sure am a lucky girl.

Seventeen years on March 17th, 2017!

A few days later (on March 19th) my sister, Camie, was married.  I wish I could have gone out for the wedding.  It was a small, private event held in their home with only a few people in attendance.  My niece, Victoria, forwarded pictures and a summary.  It was so nice to be part of her day from far away.

Tori's summary of events:
i am so glad I was here and not in California or Utah. She was so happy, & radiant like I've never seen her before. The spirit there was brilliant. Everything came together for them (a dress, a suit, shoes, rings, flowers, privacy, a notary, a mom) in a way that makes you watch in awe. They gave everything to make this happen, and it did. Elegantly. We finished shopping just 5 minutes before the Sabbath too 😉 I am sorry it had to be a secret but beyond grateful that she is safe. I am sad she didn't have her sisters and all the trappings she deserves, but glad she had someone.

Josh and I also did an impromptu batchelor/ette party in the mall parking lot. A Victoria's Secret bag for Travis and a Sephora one for Camie. They got gift cards for fun things, and some practical gifts with a fun sense of humor (Nars blush in Orgasm, a Lush massage bar that says Yes). And then dinner at a nice hibatchi place after the shopping was done. That was hard - not having a warm room full of laughing Davises. But we laughed anyway and I think it was enough.

Lesley took some great pictures! The notary kept us laughing while she waited patiently for us to finish hair and make up well after the time we were supposed to start. Josh was there to tie ties and park cars. Grandmama brought pie. Oliver sorted movies. Sometimes good enough can be perfect too.
Thank you for sharing her with me 🙂

March also gave us the athletic banquet for wrestling.  Lorien got her certificate and a bunch of pictures.  We are all so proud of her for wrestling this year.  She is amazing.

We made a few trips into San Francisco over the month of March.  I think I went into San Fran more times this month than I have the entire 13 years we've lived in California. Our last trip was to listen to a concert put on by my nephews.  They were out in California for their high school choir tour.  The choir sang in the Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.  It has beautiful acoustics and we loved hearing the choir sing.

After hearing the boys sing we did a little touristy trip down Lombard Street and got ice cream...then we sat in San Francisco traffic for an hour trying to get home.  The city is crazy.

Of course, March is Clare's birthday month.  We celebrated 11 years with this fantastic girl!  She is so sweet.  She loves dance and has good friends at school.  She has a funny habit of blowing on her finger tips while she talks.  She is learning how to cook and we all love that.  She loves church and tries hard to be a good example.  We sure love our Clare Bear.

Finally, Will had a business trip down to Mexico and brought back the best souvenirs.

Adios March.
