Lorien has been asking to get her ears pierced since Kindergarten. I've always said "no". I wanted her to wait until she was old enough and responsible enough to take care of pierced ears. I do not have pierced ears and I was/am not interested in caring for another persons piercings. Will and I decided when she was 12 she would be responsible enough to get her ears pierced.
Origionally she was going to go with another friend to get their ears pierced together but scheduling didn't work out. Lorien was a bundle of nerves and excitement. She picked out her earings and then we waited...it was the weekend after Christmas and the store was kind of packed.
I took one last picture of her perfectly holeless ears before she sat down to be shot with an earring gun.
Mercifully, they had two girls come over and pierce both of Lorien's ears at once.
And just like that, my first baby got earrings. Now she has a couple of extra holes in her head but she doesn't seem to be any worse off for it.
