Adell's Latest Thing...

Adell has fallen in love with hide and seek. She wants to play it all the time. We have a book from Grandma Judy called Spot's Birthday Party. In the story Spot, a dog, plays hide and seek with his friends. Adell loves this book--I read it to her about 100 times a day--no exaggeration.

Recently (possibly because I had not gone grocery shopping in three weeks...) Adell discovered she could fit in the cupboard where we (usually) keep the breakfast cereal. This hiding place is exactly like the snake's hiding spot in Spot's Birthday book. She even likes to dangle her feet out the door of the cupboard like the snake does with his tail.

This is great fun.

But you can imagine how much physical dexterity an 18 month old has. You can also imagine how many bonks and bumps she inflicts on her person while playing in the cupboard.

She pinches her fingers, bangs her head on the cabinetry, and falls over when climbing in or out.

All those bonks and bumps just mean I get to give her extra love before having to count to three and find her...in the same exact place...over and over again...instead of cleaning my kitchen counters...

She is getting so big. What a cutie. Curtis loves the same book.
