Every year I want to play fun tricks on the kids for April Fools.
Every year I forget.
This year was no exception, until dinner time when I found a few April Fool's recipes from Family Fun. I gave the kids "Cupcakes" for dinner and "Mashed potatoes" for dessert.
They were not fooled.

okay i don't know what the dinner really was. don't leave me hangin. i am fooled
Sorry Becky, the "cupcakes" were mini meat loaves "frosted" with mashed potatoes. I thought it was hilarious! The kids were suspicious as soon as I said we were having cupcakes for dinner. When I set the plate down they looked closely and said "These aren't cupcakes..."
Dessert was really vanilla ice cream "mashed potatoes" with caramel "gravy" and orange tinted coconut as "cheese". I thought it was clever.
I'll have to be more creative next year if I am going to really "fool" my kids.
cute!
blake had a field trip on fools day. so her sack lunch had a PB banana and chocolate chip sandwich with a hole cut out of the middle. a bag of fruit snacks...i took the snacks out and put in pretzles and sealed it back up w/ double sided tape. and a granola bar that i sneaked out and cut a piece of cheese the same size, and sealed it back up. i thought i was pretty clever, too!
