This weekend was the Father-Son camp out. There is also a Daddy-Daughter camp out later in the spring and these two evenings with Daddy are some of the most coveted of the year. Lorien has been complaining all weekend that her camp out will not come soon enough. All day Thursday and Friday Wyatt kept asking when it would be time to leave. Wyatt called Daddy's cell phone a dozen times to ask him, on Friday, if he was coming home yet. Finally at about 5:30 pm Uncle David and cousin Evan pulled into our drive way and it was time for the boys to depart!!! All of the boys had a blast roasting way too many marshmallows, hiking in the woods and sleeping in the tent. The next morning this sweet boy (Yes, he dresses himself and yes, that is a Skippy peanut butter wrapper on his head):
brought me home this sweet pet:
as pay back for my "Absolutely NO Dogs" policy. Needless to say, I nearly peed my pants when I looked into the red plastic cup cradled in my son's arms. I think I want a dog now...

What the HECK is that spider doing carrying cash around? Hasn't he (she?) heard of credit cards?
Wow, I guess you put it in a nice little home and fed it so it'll grow up big and strong, right??
I can imagine your proud boy.
Joel has a thing for worms, which is really getting gross, even for a worm-lover such as myself...
...boys.
That is just wrong!
OH MY!!!! That is so disgusting! Remind me next year to keep Adam home if that's the souvenier!
Nice Pet! Next year you have to remind me and force me to get Rory to take all three boys on the campout. Then we can go get nails done.
Cassie, Argh!!!! Please tell me you don't still have that thing!
